Mr. Majid Saif Al Ghurair is a Board Member of the Al Ghurair Group, one of the largest family-owned corporations in the United Arab Emirates, with businesses spanning a broad variety of industry sectors, including retail, industrial manufacturing and real estate. Mr. Al Ghurair currently holds numerous roles in public and private sectors in UAE. He is the Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a Board Member of Dubai Islamic Development Centre (DIEDC) and Al Etihad Credit Bureau. Mr. Al Ghurair is also the Chairman of Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG) and was involved in the formation of the Middle East Council of Shopping Centers (MECSC). He was the Chairman of MECSC since its inception in 1994 for around 23 years, and his contributions to the shopping centers industry are immeasurable.Previously, Mr. Al Ghurair had numerous prominent positions in different industries, where he was the Chairman of Drake & Scull Int’l, Chairman of Shuaa Capital PSC, Board Member of Mashreq Bank and Board Member of Investcorp Bank BSC, to name a few.
Mr. Al Ghurair is a graduate in Accounting from UAE University in Al Ain. He was awarded the “Business Leader Personality of the Year 2004” in the United Arab Emirates by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the “ABLF Ambassador of Commerce Award” in 2017 by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan.
Mr. Mohammad Saif Ahmad Al Ghurair is the Vice Chairman for Saif Al Ghurair Group of Companies and is the Chairman of Arabian Packaging Co and Saif Al Ghurair Real Estate Group. He was the CEO of the Group from 2008 to 2010. He is a Director of Taghleef Industries and has been a Director of Mashreq Bank PSC since 2018. Mr. Mohammad Saif Ahmad Al Ghurair is the founder of Ahbar Industries – the Group’s venture into printing Ink manufacturing.
Mr. Rashed Saif Ahmed Al Ghurair is the Chairman and Director of Taghleef Industries and also the Chairman and Director of Al Ghurair Petrochemicals LLC. He has been a Director of Mashreq Bank PSC since 2013, chairman of National Cement Company and Director of Saif Al Ghurair Group since 1999.
Abu Bucker Husain is the CEO and also a member of the Board of Directors of AGIS. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce & Accounting from Mumbai’s Sydenham College in 1994 and his Membership in The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) in London, UK in 1996. In 1997 Abu Bucker joined the MBA program at Boston University’s Graduate School of Management in USA, specializing in International Corporate Finance.
After graduating from Boston University, Mr. Husain took up his first position with American International Group Inc. as a Management Associate (MA) at the Company’s Regional Controllers Office at Wall Street, New York, USA in 1999. Between Jun 2000 and Jan 2006 he graduated from the MA program and was promoted as Assistant Vice President, wherein he was responsible for managing Financial and Accounting aspects of a $400 Million Dollar Division.
In early 2006, Abu Bucker Husain was certified by The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institution (AAOIFI), Bahrain as an Islamic Professional Accountant and was asked by the Group to take charge as Chief Financial Officer of AIG Takaful, a new $100 million strategic initiative of Islamic Insurance concept grounded in Islamic Principles of Banking transaction and observes the rules and regulations as specified by Sharia (Islamic law).
After acquiring invaluable expertise by working for global corporate majors, in April 2007 Abu Bucker Husain has joined Al Ghurair Iron & Steel L.L.C, a $100 Million Steel Cold Rolling & Galvanizing Complex, the first of its kind in U.A.E.
Mr. Kentaro Kojima represents Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) on the board of Directors of AGIS.
After graduating from Rikkyo University, Mr. Kojima joined Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), and has vast experience including management of related companies, sales & marketing to foreign and domestic customers, and also worked abroad for many years in key positions.
He is now Senior Manager of the Flat Products Global Marketing Division of NSC at the headquarters, and mainly engaged in management of overseas business.
Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra is a Metallurgical Engineer, by profession, with over 20 years of experience in the flat steel industry in India and abroad. Prior to joining AGIS, he was the General Manager – Operations at Steelco Gujarat Limited and was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the CRM, CRCA and CGL units. During his career of 2 decades, Mr. Mishra has also handled various projects and supervised erection & commissioning of CRM, CRCA & downstream finishing lines. In addition to working with Indian Steel Corporation Limited and Jindal Strips Limited in India, Mr. Mishra had a brief stint with Mabati Rolling Mills Ltd, Kenya – the flagship company of Safal Group. In AGIS, he looks after the entire production process, in addition to HSE, maintenance, quality assurance, production planning & control.
Management graduate from India with over 20 years of experience in international trading, sales & marketing and general management, Mr. Shetty heads the commercial functions viz. Sales & Marketing, Procurement & Logistics, HR & Administration, Finance & IT. He has been with the group for the past 10 years and has been involved with AGIS since its inception. Prior to this assignment, he was the General Manager of Trans Gulf Aluminium Industries, Dubai – an Aluminium wire rod manufacturing unit of the Al Ghurair Group. Upon completion of his PGDBAM & MBA in 1990, Mr. Shetty started his career with Grasim Industries Ltd. – the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and one of India’s largest private sector companies. After gaining experience in the field of Sales & Marketing, he joined SRF Limited – another multi-business multi-national Indian corporate. Mr. Shetty headed the Engineering Products Group in their International Trading Division and was later transferred to the Industrial Synthetics Division as the Zonal Manager- Sales – a position he occupied till his relocation to the UAE.
